Hands gently guiding a bamboo tool during a Deep Recovery session

Deep Recovery

What actually happens in Deep Recovery?

The client is mostly passive. Unlike Inara Flow, where you’re actively working on mobility and assisted stretching, Deep Recovery is deliberately slower and gentler.

A 60-minute session could flow like this:

  1. 1

    Arrival & Check-in

    5 mins

Ask how their body feels today, where they’re carrying tension, their energy level, and what they need from the session.

  2. 2

    Grounding & Breath

    5 mins

Comfortable lying or seated position. Slow, natural breathing and simple body awareness to transition away from the outside world.

  3. 3

    Gentle Assisted Movement

    20 mins

Slow assisted mobility and comfortable stretches. Think gentle hip opening, spinal mobility, shoulders, neck, legs and areas that feel restricted. No pushing for maximum range.

  4. 4

    Restorative Release

    15 mins

This becomes the signature difference. Use supported positions with bolsters/pillows while the specialist guides very gentle movements, holds or relaxation. The client doesn’t need to “do” much.

  5. 5

    Deep Rest

    10 mins

The movement stops. You could introduce gentle breath awareness and a short sound element, such as singing bowls or other soft instruments, if appropriate.

  6. 6

    Closing & Reorientation

    5 mins

Slowly bring the client back to seated, check how they feel and offer water/tea and a quiet moment before leaving.
